Prisma respects the environment

August 23rd, 2019 Posted by Prisma 0 thoughts on “Prisma respects the environment”

👣 As it currently seems to be trendy to declare war on plastic bottles, we are happy to say that we never used any anyway! For us it was always normal to treat our office and our earth with due respect.

🥂 We save water and drink champagne
💡Our electricity power supply is from 100% renewable energy sources
📜 We keep paper consumption to a minimum.
♻️ We have several recycling containers in the office and sort our waste with the goal to create as little rubbish as possible (Diplom Superdreckskescht fir Betriiber)

Braderie

August 31st, 2018 Posted by Prisma 0 thoughts on “Braderie”

We are open on Monday 3 September, when Luxembourg holds its annual “Braderie”. A Braderie simply is a street sale, taking place on a pre-defined day at the end of the Sales. The shop owners will set up their stalls outside the shops and sell their goods for lower prices (“bradéiert Präisser”). In general a Braderie involves, live music from marching bands and other performances by local clubs and associations to create the feeling of a Folk Festival. The first Braderie took place in Lille and gradually moved over to Reims, Nancy and finally to Luxembourg in 1929. The word “Braderie” has its origins in the French province of Flanders and derives from the word “braaden” (“broden” in Lux or “roasting”, “barbequing” in English). This is because at all of these street sales, people were usually having a barbeque with Thüringer, Kottletten (chops) and Mettwurscht. So if you have no lunch plans on Monday, why not pay the Braderie a visit!

3,000 EUR for the Prisma Rugby Summer Camp

September 1st, 2017 Posted by Prisma 0 thoughts on “3,000 EUR for the Prisma Rugby Summer Camp”

The Prisma RCL rugby summer camp took place from 28 August to 1 September 2017 at Stade Boy Kohnen. For 5 days, children between 8 and 18 years participated in pre-season Rugby drills and activities, expertly guided by professional coaches Eugene McCarthy and Willy Shubert from Ireland, former Harlequins winger Danny Ligari Badham and Luxembourg’s own Scott Browne.

With this donation, Prisma sponsors the pre-season training camp, which is organised each year. The RCL is working closely with Caritas. Refugee children as well as children from families in need, and kids from the Dreiborn youth offenders centre participate for free; therefore, the RCL needs sponsors like us allowing them to pay for these little ones.

Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship are rugby values which we share. We applaud and appreciate that the team includes everybody, irrespective of their background. We very much support inclusion and helping those in need.

Next to this summer camp and in addition to working with Caritas, the RCL also works with the Schrassig and Givenich prisons and the Dreiborn Youth Offenders Center. RCL players go into these institutions and teach them rugby. Without any preconception and without necessarily knowing their stories, they meet them, just like meeting any other team player and spend a few hours together with them, playing rugby. By receiving respect and a moment of happiness, it allows the prisoners/offenders to take their minds of their daily life and possibly dream of a better future.

Prisma and RCL share the same values and we are very happy and proud to have been part of this adventure.

Special thanks to Daniel Mac Lloyd who designed the stylish t-shirts for the camp.

Men are from Earth – Women are from Earth – Deal with it!

August 4th, 2017 Posted by Prisma 0 thoughts on “Men are from Earth – Women are from Earth – Deal with it!”

The Prisma team is composed of nearly women only. We never wasted too much time thinking about this fact and it is only when external people mention it, that we consider it for a second before we just get on with what we were doing. So is it a coincidence? Maybe. There is a possibility that the nature of our business seems more appealing to women than to men. In any case and irrespective of our gender we all put our passion and dedication into our work on a daily basis. For us men and women are from planet earth and we just get on with it!

Every year, instead of giving individual gifts to our clients, we donate money to a specific charity project. In 2016 we donated 2,200 EUR to Mathëllef Asbl. Mathëllef offers support and therapy to mentally disordered people. Thanks to our donation, Mathëllef was able to build a playground, which was inaugurated this month. We are very happy and proud about the result and hope the children enjoy enjoy their new play area.
